Trinidad Coloniales

Trinidad Coloniales - 12-Mar-2012

Origin: Cuba
Format: Coloniales
Size: 44 x 132
Box Date: Sep 08

Initial Thoughts: Aroma at cold is almost like green tea leaves. Draw at cold is firm. Construction is nice with a dark wrapper.

Opening: Draw remains firm but gives way to large volumes of smoke. Initial flavors are pleasant tea leaves and a slight cocoa character. Medium strength at this point.

First Third: A coffee flavor appears on the back of the palate during retrohale. Tea leaves remain but are on the front of the palate. Burn is a bit wonky for a cigar with a few years of age. Medium strength still.

Second Third: Strong coffe flavors on the back of the palate remain and nuttiness/chocalate flavors have appeared. No real change in strength.

Final Third: Slightly stronger but not much. No real evolution of flavors but some tasty coffee and chocolate continue.

Conclusions: I like this marca and vitola although I would choose other Trinidad vitolas over this one, like a Reyes or Robusto T. I have enjoyed smoking from this box though.
